Tusker acquires Fortress SRM to expand cybersecurity services
Tusker announced the acquisition of Fortress SRM, saying the deal expands its cybersecurity capabilities and adds a Cleveland-area hub to its network.
Tusker said Tuesday it has acquired Fortress SRM, a Cleveland-based cybersecurity firm, expanding its security services and adding a sixth regional hub.
Tusker said the acquisition adds nearly 50 cybersecurity professionals and 24/7 security oversight as it broadens its technology support for customers. The company said the deal also strengthens its presence in the Cleveland and Ohio Valley region.
Fortress SRM was founded in 2018 and serves customers across Ohio, northern Michigan and Wisconsin, according to the release. Its services include security consulting and advisory work, virtual chief information security officer leadership, managed security, incident response, digital forensics and a 24/7 Security Operations Center that provides threat detection, analysis and remediation support.
Tusker said it has more than 400 employees and regional hubs in Chicago, Boston, Green Bay, Duluth, Eau Claire and Cleveland. The company said the purchase is its fifth acquisition since 2017 and its first since it unified its portfolio companies under the Tusker brand earlier in the year.
Matt Zafirovski, Tusker’s chief executive, said the acquisition expands the company’s cybersecurity team and related services and strengthens its role as a technology partner. Jess Walpole, president of Fortress SRM, said customers want a partner that can support all of their IT needs and that joining Tusker gives them a larger team while keeping the same personal service.
Tusker said additional acquisitions are planned, but it did not name targets or disclose terms of the deal.
