STA names speakers for 2026 Market Structure Conference in Washington
STA said the October conference will feature SEC and FINRA leaders, draw more than 800 attendees, and cover topics including tokenization, AI and extended-hours trading.
The Security Traders Association said Aug. 11 that its 93rd Annual Market Structure Conference will be held Oct. 14-16, 2026, at the JW Marriott Washington, D.C., with featured speakers including Jamie Selway, director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Trading and Markets, and Robert Cook, president and CEO of FINRA.
The event, titled The Future in Focus, is expected to draw more than 800 attendees from more than 200 firms across the securities industry. STA said the conference will focus on market structure issues affecting equities, options and exchange-traded funds, with sessions on tokenization, prediction markets, artificial intelligence, extended-hours trading and capital formation in public and private markets.
STA President and CEO Jim Toes said in the release that the industry is operating in an increasingly convergent financial ecosystem, with new technologies and trading models blurring jurisdictional lines. He said the theme was built to explore what that shift means for market participants.
Kevin Skarbek, the 2026 chairman of STA’s board of governors, said the conference brings together perspectives from all corners of the industry and called it STA’s marquee event, according to the release.
The agenda will also include leaders from Greenwood Project, STA’s 2026 Charity of Choice, the 11th Annual Women in Finance Symposium, the annual Dictum Meum Pactum Award ceremony and the inaugural STA Young Professionals Forum.
STA described itself as a grassroots organization with more than 15 affiliates across the U.S. and Canada. It said the group represents people involved in securities trading and serves as a collective voice on regulatory and legislative matters, while also supporting professional education and industry connections.
Registration and additional conference details are available on STA’s website, according to the release.
