Semperis plans 30-city screening tour for 'Midnight in the War Room'

Semperis said on Aug. 13 that it will launch a 30-city global screening tour for its documentary Midnight in the War Room, which the company describes as the first feature-length film on cyber war.

The tour follows the film’s debut on Aug. 5 at Black Hat USA 2026, where Semperis said it was shown to CISOs, national security leaders and defenders. The company said preregistration is required for city screenings and that the roadshow is the second phase of the film’s global rollout.

Semperis said the film was produced by Semperis Studios and filmed across North America and Europe. It said the documentary draws on more than 50 interviews and over 100 hours of conversations with CISOs, former hackers, journalists and national security leaders.

The company said named contributors include Chris Inglis, David Petraeus, Jen Easterly, Marcus Hutchins and Tim Brown. Semperis also said it is the first cybersecurity company to produce a full-length feature film on cyber war.

The screening list includes stops in Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, London, Hamburg, Boston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, St. Louis, Houston, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Scottsdale, Washington, DC, Mountain View, Sydney, Singapore, New York City, Nashville, Toronto, Paris, Detroit, Mexico City, Mumbai, Philadelphia, Vancouver, São Paulo, Dublin and Irvine, California. Semperis said additional screenings may be added in coming weeks.

Semperis said the tour is sponsored by Cohesity, which it described as a leader in AI-powered data security. The company also said the roadshow has support from Action Partners including Women in CyberSecurity, Cyber Future Foundation and Hack The Box.

Thomas LeDuc, Semperis chief marketing officer and executive producer and co-director of the film, said the documentary was made because defenders have never had their story told on their own terms. He said the response at the world premiere shows the conversation is only beginning.

Semperis said the film spotlights defenders who protect water and power systems, food supply chains, healthcare networks and financial institutions targeted by nation states and ransomware gangs.

The first planned screening is in Frankfurt on Sept. 10, followed by city events through Nov. 12 in Irvine, California, according to the release.
