NexTech Solutions closes BOOMSLANG Aerospace acquisition
NexTech Solutions says the BOOMSLANG Aerospace deal expands its unmanned aerial systems and counter-UAS offerings for U.S. defense and security customers.
NexTech Solutions says it closed its acquisition of BOOMSLANG Aerospace on Aug. 7, adding unmanned aerial systems and counter-unmanned aerial systems capabilities to its defense technology portfolio.
The Huntsville, Alabama-based company said the deal broadens its offerings for U.S. Department of Defense and other government customers. The company said the acquisition expands its ability to support detection, defeat and airborne mission sets with fielded systems.
According to a PR Newswire release dated Aug. 24, BOOMSLANG develops UAS and C-UAS technology for defense and security applications. NexTech said BOOMSLANG’s technology complements its modular C-UAS architecture and adds engineering expertise in advanced UAS design and C-UAS systems.
The company said the acquisition brings BOOMSLANG capabilities into products including MANTLE, VidTerra COMPASS and JEFF-K. NexTech CEO Joseph Paull said BOOMSLANG built technology customers are asking for and said the company plans to integrate the MONGOOSE C-UAS system and BOOMSLANG UAS family into its networked ecosystem.
NexTech also said the deal is its fifth acquisition since receiving a strategic investment from Clairvest in 2023. The company said it has operated for more than 13 years and maintains locations in Huntsville, Tampa and Northern Virginia.
The release said the combined team strengthens NexTech’s ability to support fielded, mission-ready UAS and C-UAS solutions for emerging airspace threats. BOOMSLANG President and Co-Founder Alan Cornett said the combined team can move faster from concept to fielded capability, while NexTech Director of Counter-UAS Operations David Pollman said BOOMSLANG’s approach fits the company’s modular, requirements-driven strategy.
NexTech did not disclose the purchase price in the release.
Integration of BOOMSLANG’s systems and team into NexTech’s broader defense technology portfolio is next, according to the company.
